A Poem from
Alex to Marianne

Her Story

There are always so many surprises in Life...

When it comes to Love, It is often difficult to give explanations to how much the heart can hold. It is even more amazing that discovery of such brings great understanding, comfort and happiness.

Our meeting was so modest, reserved and unsuspecting. My admirations for Alex grew the moment I realized that his kindness for me is honest and genuine. I realized that he loves me for reasons I wanted to be loved. Although we are quite very different, there is a necessary commonality in this equation. I wanted a man who loves God more than his life and self interest. I wanted a man who is faithful and obedient to his teachings. As much as it is a great risk, it is something you confer and trust for God to bless.

Although the initial apparent intention was merely just friendship, lightning does strike unexpectedly at a timely manner. Shockingly, his calming love slowly swept me away to discover that love was right in front of me. It is amazing how a love so close can be so surprisingly unexpected.

I have always known that Love is a gift from God, so I thank him wholeheartedly.

There are so many words to describe what a good man I am about to marry…

Truly the man of my dreams and the only one who will forever be in my heart… A diamond in the rough.

-- Marianne

His Story

My first recollection of Marianne was not the time when I first fell in love with her, but rather a distant glimpse of a portrait of a woman detailing a story untold.

I first met Marianne when we both worked at Queen of the Valley hospital in West Covina. Mutual friends introduced us and from that time forward, the only interactions between us were friendly exchanges of greeting. We interacted more as we both attended friendly functions and gatherings. We at some point exchanged phone numbers but really did not have much telephone communications.

Oddly enough we conversed more as I had made preparations to move out of state. Conversation escaladed as we began to share in greater depth our similar religion and spiritual beliefs. The main attraction that I have about Marianne is that she loves God far more that anything in the world, and that was exactly what I was looking for and hoped that we can share as priority.

We differ in many ways but at the same time enjoy many of the similar things. I like to think that we have the same ideas but choose to put a personal twist into our everyday lives. I had difficulty trying to sequence the who, what, when, and how we met, but truthfully, thank God we met and will share in the love of each other. We have placed ourselves in God’s hands to be blessed with our heartfelt commitment to serve him and honor the path to our wedding and many more blessings to come.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for sharing in our excitement.
